Manufactured in 1885, this is a Third Model with the dust cover that operates on the central guide rail integrally machined as part of the receiver. Dovetail front sight and buckhorn rear sight on barrel with full length tube magazine. The top of the barrel is marked "WINCHESTER'S- REPEATING - ARMS NEW HAVEN CT / KING'S - IMPROVEMENT - PATENTED MARCH 29, 1866, OCTOBER 16, 1860." Serial number on the lower tang and the one line model designation on the upper tang. Smooth forearm with an iron forend cap and straight grip stock with a steel crescent buttplate with a storage compartment in the butt.

Refinished with mostly an artificial brown patina overall, with a dark brown on the frame and barrel, a lighter brown on the magazine, and mild pitting, scratches and dents overall. The stock is good, with some darkening around the metal, and scattered pressure dents. The action is very good.
