Description:

Manufactured in 1892 and features a solid iron block front sight and folding adjustable rear sight. The dust cover operates on the central guide that is integrally machined as part of the receiver, which is characteristic of the Third Model. The upper tang is marked with the model designation and the lower tang is stamped with the serial number. The top of the barrel is marked "WINCHESTER'S REPEATING ARMS. NEW HAVEN, CT. / KING'S IMPROVEMENT - PATENTED MARCH 29, 1866. OCTOBER 16. 1860." between the rear sight and barrel band. Also inscribed "The Daisy Carbine" on the left side of the barrel.( Definitely period, possibly factory) Half magazine with replaced saddle ring in the original staple on the left side of the receiver. Straight grip walnut stock. These "Outback" carbines are seldom found in any condition.

Rating Definition:

Good. The barrel has a mottled dark patina with spotting and scattered patches of pin point pitting. The receiver has a mottled gray patina with heavy spotting and patches of pin point pitting. The wood has been repaired and refinished with pressure dents and dings throughout, there is also a crack at each wrist. Mechanically good.
