This particular gun is the third variation and was manufactured in 1889. It features a dovetailed fixed front sight and an adjustable semi-buckhorn rear sight Standard two line address atop the half-octagon barrel reads, "WINCHESTER'S REPEATING ARMS. NEW HAVEN. CONN. U.S.A./ KING'S IMPROVEMENT PATENTED MARCH 29. 1866 OCTOBER 16. 1860.", and the caliber is stamped " 38 W.C.F." ahead of the receiver. Model marked on upper tang, serial number marked on lower. Button magazine. Plain straight grip stock and forearm, crescent iron butt plate with cleaning rod compartment, iron forearm cap.

Good. The barrel has turned to a mixed brown and gray patina, with a smooth gray on the receiver, faint traces of original blue in the protected areas, and some brown spotting, light pitting, and some minor handling marks overall. The stock has been sanded and revarnished, with some light to moderate pressure dents. The action is fair.
