Manufactured between 1893 and 1935. Dovetail front sight with folding peep and adjustable buckhorn rear sight. Two line barrel address is marked in two lines "MARLIN FIREARMS CO. NEW - HAVEN, CT. U.S.A. / PAT'D OCT. 11, 1887. APRIL. 2, 1889. AUG. 1, 1893." on the top barrel flat and "SPECIAL SMOKELESS STEEL" on the left rear flat. Casehardened receiver, hammer, lever and buttplate, blue barrel and magazine. Take down variation. Complete with smooth oiled walnut straight grip stock.

Partially refinished (stock). Approximately 30% thinning original blue remains on the barrel with a mottled gray patina exhibiting some spotting and moderate high edge wear. The receiver shows faint traces of original casehardening patterns and a satin gray patina with some surface oxidation and a few casual surface scratches. The wood is good with repaired cracks and minor pressure dents and dings.
