Manufactured in 1892 in 40-82 WCF caliber. Dovetail front sight with buckhorn adjustable rear sight. Barrel address is marked in two lines: "---MANUFACTURED BY THE--- / ---WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO. NEW HAVEN CONN. U.S.A.---" Caliber marked behind the rear sight "40-82 W.C.F.". Model designation on the upper tang with the serial number and patent information stamped on the lower tang. Straight grip walnut stock with crescent steel buttplate.

Partially refinished (stock and barrel). Traces of original thinning blue remain on the barrel with the balance an artificial mottled brown patina showing some high edge wear as well as scratches and dings. The receiver has a mottled gray patina exhibiting heavy spotting throughout with scattered surface scratches. The forearm tip and loading gate have been cleaned and are now bright. The wood has been revarnished and shows scattered pressure dents and dings. Mechanically fine.
