Description:

This is just a super example of a very scarce STAR/Colt semi-automatic pistol that was produced for testing and evaluation as a potential candidate for the recompetition of the second US Army XM9 handgun competition that was held in 1987. This pistol is accompanied with a notarized Colt letter from the Senior Colt Firearms Engineer on Colt stationary, attesting to the fact that this pistol was one of twenty (20) pistols manufactured by the Spanish Star company expressly for Colt with the intentions of being evaluated as a possible contender for submission in the second US Army XM9 pistol competition and future commercial sales in the US. It also has a Connecticut state sale/transfer form from Colt also dated 1988. The pistol itself is a very nice example of a Star M30PK that that has an aluminum frame with the steel slide, ambidextrous safety, white outline adjustable rear sight with a ramp front sight, double stack magazine, and ring hammer with serrations on the front of the trigger guard bow and front grip strap. It is interesting in that the frame and slide have the reversed rail pattern exactly like the CZ75 and 85 pistols. The right rear side of the frame is marked "COLT FIREARMS HARFORD CT." and below that it is marked with the large Star manufacturers mark (sunburst logo), next to STAR B. ECHEVERRIA, EIBAR SAPIN, ESPANA, over 9 M/M P with SA on the end, and the left side is marked with MOD 30PK over the serial number. It has a black anodized finish on the frame with a parkerized slide and barrel, is complete with the original matching blue plastic shipping box with the instruction manual and cleaning brushes.

Rating Definition:

As new and unfired with 99% of the original factory finish. The grips are also in as new condition. A very scarce limited quantity STAR/COLT co-teamed semi-automatic pistol with historical significance.
