Heavy barrel, marked with the one line "E. REMINGTON & SONS. ILION, N.Y." address on top, with dovetail cuts at the front, middle (plugged) and breech (plugged, 2 2/5" long). Bottom of barrel marked "40/50". Casehardened pistol grip frame, with 6-line patent dates on the left side, blue breechblock and trigger guard, and a range adjustable tang peep sight. The front sight is missing. Smooth forearm with a casehardened Schnabel tip, checkered pistol grip stock with a hard rubber grip cap, shadow line cheekpiece and hooked Swiss butt.
