Manufactured in 1962 and built on the N target frame, this revolver features a three screw frame with a special order 5 inch barrel with Patridge front sight and an adjustable white outline rear target sight. The left side of the barrel is marked "SMITH & WESSON" and the right side is marked with the earlier production marking "45 CAL. MODEL 1955". The right side of the frame has the standard markings. Casehardened serrated target trigger and checkered wide spur hammer and fitted with checkered walnut target grips with S&W medallions and diamond inserts. The accompanying factory letter gives a brief history of the .45 Hand Ejector Model of 1955/Model 25 and verifies the serial number, finish and special order 5" barrel. Complete with original box with the barrel length showing to "5" on the end panel, half moon clips and manual.

Excellent. The revolver retains 99% original finish with loss limited to some minor wear on the muzzle, a drag line on the cylinder and a couple of very small areas on the cylinder where the finish has flaked. Virtually all of the original bright case colors remain on the hammer and trigger. The grips are excellent with a few minor handling marks and the checkering remains sharp. The box is good with some heavy edge wear. An exceptionally nice, special order, rare 5" barrel Model 25 revolver with factory box and letter.
