Description:

This is a nice example of a early no letter prefix, Walther produced G43 semi-automatic rifle. The left side of the receiver is marked with the Nazi Eagle proof and Eagle/Swastika firing proof on either side of "G43" followed by the serial number and a lightly stamped "ac44" code indicating manufacture at the Walther plant. The serial number is also present on the left side of the bolt carrier under the cocking lever. The cocking knob is on the left side and the safety lever is on the rear of the receiver. The action cover is the stamped version with the sliding dust cover. This rifle still has the side mounted scope base, which has a couple of minor holes drilled in the side and then filled in. It has the standard blade front sight with the standard military rear tangent sight graduated to 1,200 meters. The stock is the correct WWII pistol grip laminated version with a steel buttplate with the buttstock compartment, while the handguard is a very unusual old post war, one-piece walnut version. The left side of the stock and pistol grip area have faint Eagle Waffenamt proofs. and a brown leather sling with a checkered pattern on it. The rifle is complete with an Israeli marked leather sling, a cleaning rod, front sight cover, and a single 10 round detachable magazine marked "gcb" followed by single "eagle / WaA892" and "K43".

Rating Definition:

Excellent overall, with 95% of the blued finish overall. Edge and high spot wear with more thinning on the exposed section of the barrel. The stock and handguard are both in very good condition showing only some minor handling marks overall with the appearance of an old lightly cleaned surface. A nice representative example of a mid WWII production G43 rifle.
