Manufactured 1896. Heavy number 3 octagon barrel with a blade front sight and a buckhorn rear sight and marked with the standard two line top barrel flat address and "32-40" at the breech. The serial number is marked on the lower tang along with the patent date. Blue finished with casehardened lever and buttplate. Smooth Schnabel forearm with ebony insert and straight grip stock with a steel crescent buttplate.

Good. The barrel has a smooth brown patina with gray patina on the high edges. The rest of the metal surfaces have a mottled gray patina. There are slivers missing from the forearm that is cracked near the tip and a crack on the left side of the wrist, otherwise the refinished forearm and partially refinished stock are fair with some minor dings, scratches and gouges. Mechanically fine.
