Description:

Manufactured 1876 to 1891. The barrel has a globe and post front sight and no rear sight. There is a folding adjustable peep sight on the top of the action. The standard Marlin Fire Arms Co. three line patent dates are marked on the left side of the receiver and has standard loop lever. The barrel, forearm and receiver are all matching. The stock has a smooth pistol grip and forearm with a brass crescent buttplate.

Rating Definition:

Very good. The barrel retains traces of original blue, the balance a smooth speckled brown. The receiver is mostly a smooth mottled brown with hints of the case colored pattern. The lever is a smooth gray with faint case color on the sides. The stock has been revarnished, of which most remains, thinning on the right buttstock with two one inch cracks coming from the action on either side. The buttplate has had the prongs cut off and filed smooth. Mechanically fine with a poor bore.
