Manufactured in 1941, this example is the deluxe version of the Model 71 rifle. It has a hooded ramp blade front sight with bead, a removed rear sight with filler block added, an adjustable peep sight mounted on bolt, and a half-length tube magazine. Standard markings on the barrel, with the factory proof on the barrel and receiver and serial number on the frame underside. Fitted with the checkered pistol grip stock and forearm with forearm cap, sling swivels, factory hard rubber pistol grip cap and checkered buttplate.

Excellent. Overall the rifle retains approximately 97% original blue finish with a few streaks of gray on the barrel and minor thinning on the frame underside. The lever retains approximately 60% of the blue with the balance smooth brown patina with some scattered minor pitting. The buttplate has a smooth brown patina, with a developing brown patina on top of the bolt. The wood is excellent with the exception of some minor dings and scratches. There is some scattered light bruising in the overall crisp checkering.
