Two Pistols

A) U.S.A. Liquid Pistol with Original Box and Papers

Cast iron with nickel finish. The left side is marked "USA/ LIQUID/ PISTOL" with "PATD/ JUNE 30/ 1896" on the right side. The grips are integral to the pistol and are checkered. Complete with box that contains directions for use in the lid and advertising flier.

ConditionVery fine, the pistol retains 90% of the original nickel finish with some frosting. Mechanically needs work. The box is fine and has been repaired and laminated on the bottom and on the lid.

B) J. Stevens Second Issue Stevens-Conlin Number 38 Single Shot Pistol

Dovetail front sight. Barrel release on left side of frame. Hinged barrel equipped with auto-extractor. Smooth trigger, checkered hammer, and spurred trigger guard. Fitted with checkered walnut grip panels. Weighted buttcap. Named for James Conlin, owner of a New York shooting gallery. 6,000 were produced between 1884 and 1903.

ConditionVery fine. The barrel retains 80% of the original blue finish with thinning overall and some dings. The rear sight is missing. The frame retains 90% of the original nickel finish with edge wear, minor flaking and a few scattered dings. The grips are very fine with a few minor gouges in the checkering. Mechanically excellent.
