Manufactured in 1942. The pistol has U.S. property and inspection marks and is one of the 3,128 .380 ACP pistols procured by the military from Colt during WWII. The Model 1908 was another of John Browning's designs and it developed into one of Colt's most successful pistols. Two line address / 1897 and 1903 patent dates marked on the left side of the slide with the Rampant Colt behind the slide serrations. The right side of the slide is marked, "COLT AUTOMATIC / CALIBRE .380 HAMMERLESS" below the ejection port, and the right side of the frame is marked "U.S. PROPERTY". The left side of the trigger guard bow is stamped with a punch-mark that indicates ordnance acceptance and the Colt "VP" proof, the number "4" on the lower left and "57" on the upper right side. Standard low profile fixed sights, two tone magazine marked "CAL. 380 / COLT" on the bottom and fitted with checkered walnut grips with silver Colt medallions. Complete with a plain, unmarked reproduction cardboard box with instructions and cleaning rod.

Excellent. The pistol retains 99% original finish with some scattered small areas of minor spotting, and some minor handling marks. The grips are excellent with only slight handling marks and sharp checkering. The markings remain crisp and clear. Mechanically excellent. The box is excellent.
