Manufactured in 1914, this is an excellent example of a Colt Model 1902 Military pistol with the square butt, slide lock on the left side of the slide, lanyard swivel and eight-round magazine, features that distinguish it from the Colt Model 1902 "Sporting" pistol. The pistol also features grip serrations on the rear of the slide, a square profile rear sight, and a spur hammer. The pistol has the Colt high polish commercial blue finish with a casehardened hammer and a barrel with polished chamber and muzzle. The left side of the slide has the two line, two block patent and address markings ("PATENTED / APR.20,1897.SEPT.9,1902" and "COLT'S PT.F.A.MFG.CO. / HARTFORD, CT.U.S.A.") with the Rampant Colt trademark behind the slide serrations and the right side of the slide is marked "AUTOMATIC COLT / CALIBRE 38 RIMLESS SMOKELESS" ahead of the ejection port. The left side of the trigger guard bow is stamped with an "X" assembler's mark above the Colt "Triangle/VP" proofmark and the right side is stamped with a "K" inspection mark. Complete with a blue finished magazine with "MIL./COLT/38 CAL." roll-stamped on the floor plate.

Excellent. The pistol retains 95% of the original blue finish. Wear is limited to some minor scratches and scuff marks on the left side of the frame and on either side of the front sight blade with some thinning and minor handling marks on the grip straps. The rest of the pistol has minimal handling wear. The hammer has 98% of the original case colors. The magazine retains about 90% of the blue finish with most of the wear concentrated on the bottom of the side plate. The hard rubber grips are in excellent condition with light handling marks. All markings are crisp. This is an excellent example of a Colt Model 1902 (Military) semi-automatic pistol.
