Produced in 1942 by serial number, but not completed until after World War II circa 1946-1947. The left side of the slide is marked with the two line, two block address/patent dates with the Rampant Colt in the center, the right side of the slide is marked "COLT AUTOMATIC / CALIBRE 45" followed by the Rampant Colt and the left side of the frame is marked with "GOVERNMENT MODEL" over the "C" prefix serial number. The left front upper trigger guard is marked "VP" and "R" and "49" on the opposite. Standard low profile fixed sights, matte finish on top of the slide, unmarked blue magazine and fitted with stag grips. Complete with the original maroon hinged lid box numbered to the gun with bore brush, manual and a War Department Basic Field Manual. Also comes with a boxed 22 caliber conversion kit with instructions. The kit consists of the slide, slide stop, sping and barrel assembly.
