This is an excellent example of an earlier production Model 1896 sniper rifle as manufactured by the Carl Gustav factory that was fitted with a short rail type M/42 scope. The top of the receiver is marked with a large "Crown C / CARL GUSTAFS STADS / GEVARSFAKTORI / 1902". The number "131" and a crown proof are visible on most parts. The rifle is equipped with a semi-hooded front sight and adjustable rear tangent style sight graduated from 3 to 6. The scope is mounted on a short rail system on the left receiver wall and the scope is a 42 AGA 3x65 variation with leather lens caps. It has the full length military stock and short handguard with the brass Torped Overslog Str. Disk and range calculation plaque on the right side, and crown proofs on the wrist. Complete with slotted cleaning rod, leather sling and Swedish Mauser bayonet with metal scabbard and leather frog.
