This rifle is a Model 71 modified by the addition of a tubular magazine and fitted with an ejector on the bolt. There is a cut off lever mounted on the left rear of the receiver for single shot firing. The top barrel flat at the breech end is marked with a crown over "SPANDAU", the right upper flat is marked with four crown over Gothic letter proofs and the left upper flat is marked with the serial number, "crown / F.W." flanked by two crown over Gothic letter proofs. The right front of the receiver is marked with a crown proof, the right rear "1888", the left side with the matching serial number and the rear "I.G. Mod 71/84". Inverted "V" front sight and folding leaf rear sight graduated to 1600 meters. Mounted with a full length straight grip stock secured by three barrel bands, (bayonet lug on the front band), crown proofs on the right and underside and flat iron buttplate.

Excellent with 95% plus of the original blue finish remaining. The receiver remains bright with speckled discoloration. The stock is very fine with the finish absent and some scattered minor dings and dents. All markings (including the stock) remain crisp and clear. Mechanically excellent.
