Bore Condition: The bore is partially darkened with distinct rifling and light oxidaiton.
Description:

Manufactured c. 1862-1865. Per Flayderman's Guide to Antique American Firearms "Merrills were known issued to the following Union cavalry regiments: N.Y. 1st, 5th, 18th; Penna. 11th, 17th, 18th; N.J. 1st; Indiana 7th; Wisc. 1st, 3rd; Ky. 27th; Del. 1st".

Rating Definition:

Good overall with brown patina, wear, and spotting. Wood cracked section of stock absent behind the tang. Percussion nipple absent, otherwise mechanically functions.
