Bore Condition: The bore is partially darkened with distinct rifling.
Description:

Approximately 30,000 manufactured c. 1859-1863. Period replacement front sight blade. Inspection initials on various components, with faint remnants of cartouche stamps visible on the left wrist of the stock.

Rating Definition:

Very good, retains some of the original finish, with scattered spotting and gray and brown patina on the balance, and defined markings in the metal. Wood is good as sanded and re-oiled, with numerous scattered dents, scuffs and scratches, and some cracks with some attempted glue repairs visible on the bottom of the forearm. Period replacement front sight as mentioned above. Absent top screw on the ladder of the rear sight. Mechanically fine.
