Bore Condition: The bore is darkened with corrosion.
Description:

Lock dated "1863" and marked "C.S./RICHMOND, VA." Period initials "JHS" on the left stock flat and left side of stock appears to read "W J". Smoothbore barrel, likely used for hunting purposes during the period.

Rating Definition:

Fair overall with plenty of working gun character, brown patina and scattered pitting, period removed sling mounts, absent rear sight, and characteristic chips and cracks in the stock. Mechanically needs work, hammer does not remain cocked.
