Lewis Lobdell Hepburn (1832-1914) was a blacksmith and gunsmith in New York and is well-known for his contributions to firearms designs. Top barrel marked with Hepburn's name and is 36 caliber and rifled. The lower barrel is 12 gauge.

Fair with a smooth grey/brown patina, surface oxidation, and spotting/pitting. Wood is very good with some handling wear. The right lock spring is weak but mechanically functions.
