Bore Condition: The bore is darkened with distinct rifling.
Description:

Only approx. 3,000 were manufactured c. 1858-1860 per "Flayderman's Guide" (9th Edition) p. 373. 2,250 were purchased by the government, but Flayderman notes they are "seldom found with inspector stampings."

Rating Definition:

Fair with gray-brown patina, pitting, modified hammer and top strap, and moderate wear. The grips are fair with hammer marks on the bottom and a chip at the toe and traces of a cartouche on the left grip. Mechanically functions.
