Manufactured in 1912 and subsequently reworked during the German Weimar Republic era after the end of World War I. Features dual dates "1920/1912" marked on top of the chamber, "DWM" monogram on the front toggle link, "Crown/Gothic letter" proofs on the extension, along with "imperial eagle" firing proofs on the barrel, extension, and breech block. Matching serial numbers on the frame, barrel, and extension, along with matching "98" partials marked on some small parts. Fitted with a pair of checkered walnut grips, with a matching numbered right panel marked "DILL" on the interior in pencil and a non-matching replacement left panel, and a nickel finished magazine with matching "6898/+" marked walnut base.

Very fine as arsenal reworked and subsequently refinished, retaining most of the finishes with some discoloration the the straw colors parts, a few minor handling marks and some faint pitting visible under the finish, some minor thinning on the grip straps with grey patina, and some minor handling wear. The grips are fine with light compression wear to the defined checkering. Mechanically excellent.
