Bore Condition: The bore is darkened with faint rifling and oxidation/pitting.
Description:

Lock dated "1861". Stock marked "J.W. Smith/Co.i. 12 ALA" A J.W. Smith enlisted with the Confederate Army on September 6, 1862 and mustered in to Company A, 1st Battalion Alabama Artillery. Private Smith was then captured by the Union Army on August 23, 1864 where he died from disease on March 7, 1865 and is buried in the Woodlawn National Cemetery.

Rating Definition:

Good overall with gray patina, wear, and pitting. Mechanically functions.
