Both of the included pistols are manufactured 1870-1912, with only four digits difference in the serial numbers; while not a "true" sequential pair, they likely would have been made in the same working day. Blade front sights, "-COLT-" marked on top of the barrels, and smooth bird's head grips. Both pistols fit in the included brass banded hardwood case, with "W.H. Howard" engraved on a plaque in the lid, red velvet lining, and twelve rounds of ammunition (mixed headstamps) set into two cartridge blocks. Howard has not been identified.

Excellent, original finish, showing some light scratches and handling marks. The grips are very good, slightly undersized, with minor wear and attractive grain. The hammer sits low in the safety notch, otherwise mechanically very good. The case is fair, with some warping of the lid, mild wear, and a well aged patina on the brass.
