Description:

1) Flintlock mechanism of wheellock form signed "ANTONIO/VISINTAINER IN/PERGINE," full-cock only and lightly engraved, circa 1740. 2) Italian miquelet lock mechanism, circa 1670, with engraving. (F. Theodore Dexter, April 13, 1964) 3) Brescian wheellock mechanism, circa 1650, with a "+/LC/+" maker's mark on the inside. (Collection notes suggest this lock came from Herr Staub of Freibourg, Switzerland, November 24, 1959, similar example can be found in W. Keith Neal Collection, Lot 153, July 18, 2002.) 4) Brescian wheellock mechanism, circa 1660, with a "crown/-B-P-" maker's mark on the inside and light engraving. Provenance: The Norman R. Blank Collection

Rating Definition:

Good to fine with gray and brown patina, some oxidation and pitting, and mild wear. Wheellocks not test. Miquelet and flintlock function.
