Receiver manufactured in 1954, with a "LMR" marked and "12 54" dated barrel with bright chamber ring, "IHC/E24" bolt, "IHC" operating rod, along with an "IHC" trigger housing with "IHC" hammer and "F" safety. Fitted with a pair of walnut handguards and a walnut stock with a boxed "DoD eagle" acceptance stamp on the left of the wrist and a circled "P" firing proof on the grip. Includes a consignor provided data sheet on the rifle, dated March 12, 1977, confirming its current configuration, an M1 pattern web sling, a clear plastic muzzle cover, along with a M10 combo tool, segmented steel cleaning rod, plastic oiler, and plastic grease pot stowed in the butt trap. Very Fine as arsenal refurbished, retaining most all of the parkerized finish with some light cycling wear and minor edge wear on the receiver and barrel, some dried grease in protected areas, and a few minor handling marks. The stock is exceptionally fine as lightly sanded and re-oiled with a crisp acceptance stamp, a few minor compression marks, and very attractive consistent grain. Mechanically excellent.
