Bore Condition: The smooth bore is darkened with some pitting.
Description:

Sharps manufactured approximately 320 of these Model 1853 shotguns between 1854-1856, found in the approximate serial range 8300-17300, according to "Flayderman's Guide" (9th Edition, 5F-012).

Rating Definition:

Good with smooth brown patina, some scattered freckling, some light flash pitting, and defined markings in the iron. Wood is also good as sanded and re-oiled, with numerous scattered dents, scratches, a small reattached glued section on top directly ahead of the buttplate, and a few chips. Mechanically fine.
