Manufactured in 1916. Importer marked receiver, "crown/G.R." cyphered and "1916" dated receiver socket. Front sight blade modified with top peep reticle. Matching visible serial numbers on the bolt handle and rear sight, non-matching numbered nose cap. Fitted with a set of walnut handguards, un-numbered walnut forend, and a reproduction walnut butt with screwed on cheek riser and non-matching serial number stamped on top of the wrist. Includes a green painted reproduction hardwood carry chest, marked "CHEST. RIFLE. No1. MKIII. .303 INCH" on the exterior and "G(crown)R/Sht L.E. III." on the inner lid, two web slings, and a web carry case.

Fine as refinished and reconfigured, retaining most of the finish with some minor edge wear, chipping black paint on the magazine, some scattered minor patches of oxidation/spotting, some minor pitting under the finish, a broken added center sling swivel, and light handling marks. The replacement reproduction stock is very fine as varnished with a few light compression and handling marks. Mechanically excellent. The case is fine.
