Description:

Approximately 2,000 manufactured c. 1859-1874. Marked "C. SHARPS PATENT/JAN. 25 1859" on the right side of the frame.

Rating Definition:

Fair overall with a mixed gray/brown patina, moderate wear, and some pitting, a crack in left grip panel, and tiny hole in right grip panel. The firing pin rotates inconsistently, but the pistol otherwise mechanically functions.

Approximately 26,000 manufactured c. 1859-1874. Marked "C. SHARPS & CO./PHILADA.PA." on the right side of the frame and "C. SHARPS" over a partially faded patent date on the left side of the frame. Provenance: The Charles Marx Collection

Rating Definition:

Fair overall with a mixed gray/brown patina on the barrels, scattered pitting, and moderate wear. Mechanically needs work: the hammer does not lock at the half or full cock position, and the barrel is not retained in the open position.
