Produced 1854-1869, only about 2,300 of these 31 caliber models were manufactured. Cone and notch sights, with the top strap unmarked and "BEALS PATENT. / SEPT. 1854" on the left rear of the frame. Floral etched cylinder, with alternating notches at the front and rear edges for the trigger mounted "walking beam", which advances the cylinder. Matching numbers on the underside of the frame, left side of the front strap and the inside of each grip panel. Equipped with a checkered hammer, ring trigger and smooth two piece grips.
