Excellent Merwin Hulbert & Company Two Barrel Set Double Action Revolver

Produced in the 1880s. The top of the barrel is marked with the standard two line address/patent dates and the complete matching serial number is marked on the butt, barrel lug and rear face of the cylinder. The left side of the frame below the cylinder is marked "38 CAL." and the right side of the folding hammer is marked "Patd / Jan. 27, 85". Sliding loading gate mounted on the right side of the frame. All nickel finish with a casehardened hammer and trigger, and fitted with hard rubber checkered grips with the checkerboard design in a circle at the tops and a lanyard ring on the butt. Complete with an extra 3 1/2" barrel numbered "24587" with the two line address/patent marking on the top of the rib.

ConditionExcellent. The revolver retains 98% original finish with some small areas on the barrel where the finish has flaked off and there is some pin prick pitting on the exposed areas. The left rear of the trigger guard has some flaking and there is some very minor pitting on the exposed area. There are a few scattered minor scratches and the rear sides of the frame are beginning to show a "frosted" finish. The trigger retains most of the original case colors mostly on the upper sides with the hammer retaining 90% plus of the original bright colors. The grips are excellent with a couple of minor dings, light handling marks and crisp checkering. The 3 1/2" barrel is excellent with 98% of the original finish and a small area of minor pitting on the left side with overall minor handling marks. The revolver appears to have been fired very little and the mechanics are excellent.
