Description:

Regulation pattern U.S. Model 1860 Saber with 34 3/4 inch single fuller blade rounded back. The blade is stamped "U.S./ G.W.C/ 1865" on the obverse ricasso and the Ames ad engraved scroll on the reverse. The brass hilt has a 2-branch guard, helmet pommel and a wire wrapped leather grip. The saber is complete with a regulation steel scabbard inspected "G.W.C" on the drag.

Rating Definition:

Very good. The blad has most of the original polish with patches of age discoloration near the tip. The Ames and U.S. inspection marks on the ricasso are crisp. The brass hilt has red tinted patina. Light wear on the grip and dark age spotting on the sheath.
