Description:

This is an attractive Walther PPK pistol in the very scarce 9mm Kurz (380 Auto) that is fitted with a set of Nazi High Part Leader grips, which has been lavishly custom engraved with a fine scroll engraved pattern overall, (even through the slide markings) that has been highlighted with a fine gold wire inlay that borders all the engraved panels. This pistol has been further embellished with a 3/8 inch high, raised gold inlayed "SS" runes on the front grip strap a raised gold spread wing Nazi eagle clutching a swastika, on the slide, and "RZM" markings on the left hand side of the slide. Both the "SS" runes and the "RZM" markings have been encircled with the fine gold wire inlay. As noted this pistol is chambered in 9mm Kurz which in itself is a desirable feature as so few were produced, that was later fitted with a set of very rare High Party Leader brown plastic checkered grips with the reinforced metal backs. Over 90% of the exposed metal surfaces of this pistol have been lavishly engraved with a very nice fine scrolling engraving with a punch dot or stippled back ground for shading. The chamber area of the barrel has also been engraved in a cross-hatched pattern. These High Part Leader grips were presented to high Nazi party officials of the NSDAP organization for meritorious accomplishments. The left side of the slide has the standard Walther PPK markings correctly spaced to accommodate the "9 m/m" markings with a "RZM" marking engraved at the rear of the slide ledged. The left side of the slide has the following slide markings of slide showing the "WALTHER" banner next to "Waffenfabrik Walther, Zella-Mehlis (Thur)/ Walther's Patent Cal. 9 m/m" and "Mod. PPK, followed by the RZM" markings. The right side of the frame and slide have the correct "Crown N" commercial proofmark directly below the ejection port. The pistol is complete with one blued Post war Walther marked "9 m/m" magazine and a blued Walther presentation pistol box with red velvet lining.

Rating Definition:

Near mint overall with 99% of the custom high polished blued finish overall. The Party Leader grips are also in excellent condition with nice color overall with almost no handling marks and no chipping or damage. The left side shows a very, very minute age crack just starting at the screw bushing, with a very minute age crack on the lower right corner at the reinforcing strap. The engraving is in excellent condition overall with nice clear sharp markings with all the gold inlays and gold filed wire intact. The slide is mismatched, but the engraving and markings match the pistol. The replacement post war blue Walther carrying case is also in very good condition overall with some slight wear and separation of the cover material around the edges of the lid with the red silk lid lining and red velvet interior intact with only minor wear with no rips or tears.
