This is an example of a double dated Erfurt Kar 98 rifle, probably a post-WWI police issue. The top of the receiver ring is marked "1920 / crown / ERFURT / 1917", the left side is marked with an Imperial eagle proof and the serial number, the right side is marked with three crown over script letter proofs. The left side receiver wall is marked "Kar 98.". Visible numbers (partial and complete) and matching. Shrouded front sight and tangent rear sight graduated to 2,000 meters. Mounted with a full one piece pistol grip stock and matching handguard with proofmarks on the right rear and grip area, matching serial number on the bottom and flat buttplate. Complete with a brown leather sling.

Good. The rifle retains 30% original blue finish with some thinning and high edge wear. The rear barrel band has a smooth gray patina and there are some areas of smooth gray. The stock is also good with numerous scratches around the takedown disk and overall scattered minor dents, dings and scratches. The markings are clear. The sling is good. The action is fine.
