Hooded blade front and tangent rear sights, with "44 D9" stamped on the barrel, "bcd/ 4" on top of the receiver ring, "eagle/ 135" proofs and "Mod. 98" on the sidewall. Stamped components, with "byf" (Mauser) stamps. Smooth pistol grip stock, stamped "eagle/ 135" on the right side, "*/ C" on the underside, and a "gqm/43" marked cupped buttplate (see the book "Kriegsmodell"). With a "44 crs" (Weyersburg, Solingen) marked bayonet, 10" single fuller knife blade, ribbed plastic grips, metal sheath and leather and canvas frog.
