This rifle features and heavy barrel which gauges at 8mm caliber and the stock forearm has been shortened. The left side of the barrel and receiver at the breech are marked with the matching serial number. The upper left side of the receiver is marked "HAERENS TOJHUS. 1915 / M. 89". The top of the barrel is marked with a "C" followed by a block "C / crown/38 / crown". The barrel is equipped with a dovetailed globe front sight, there are no provisions for a rear sight on the barrel and there is a receiver mounted peep sight marked with the matching partial serial number "321" and a "crown/HR". The rifle is mounted with a one piece pistol grip stock (forearm shortened as mentioned above) with a beveled serrated iron buttplate and leather sling. There is a small brass unit disk on the right rear of the stock, marked "4R / 19".
