This is a scarce/rare carbine version of the M16A2 rifle only chambered in 7.62x39mm, the same round used in AK-47 rifles. It is a "Transition" rifle, made between 1989 and 1994, with flash hider, but no bayonet lug. It has the A2-style fully adjustable rear sight with elevation adjustable front post. Bird cage flash hider with the short round ribbed handguard, barrel marked "C MP 5.56 NATO 1/12" on the top with correct Colt 7.62x39mm magazine, casing deflector, forward assist, checkered pistol grip and smooth buttstock with checkered trapdoor butt.
