This flintlock infantry musket appears to be a model 1763 and was produced at the Maubeuge Arsenal in France. The lock is script marked "Maubeuge / Manuf [illegible]" in front of the hammer. The letter "V" is stamped on the left side of the barrel at the breech. Blade front sight on the front barrel band, bayonet lug on the underside of the barrel, 3 barrel bands, 2 sling swivels, and an iron ramrod with a button head. With a socket bayonet (does not fit this musket).
Good. The musket has a smooth dark patina overall with some minor flash pitting. There is some scattered minor spotting with even spotting on the front barrel band and buttplate. The stock has been repaired, otherwise the refinished wood is good with a few minor cracks, a filled repair (buttstock on left side), and some minor handling marks. The letter "L" and a now faint floral blossom have been carved on the buttstock (left side). The bayonet is very good with a dark mottled patina and a slightly bent blade. Mechanically Fine.
