This lot consist of ten books of the "WAR OF THE REBELLION: OFFICIAL RECORDS OF THE UNION AND CONFEDERATE ARMIES", or, as it is commonly referred to, "OFFICIAL RECORDS". Each volume is over 1,000 pages, with the original set having 70 sections called volumes separated into 128 parts or individually-bound books. Commissioned by Congress in 1880 with the last volume not published until 1901, the "OFFICIAL RECORDS" contain a colossal amount of material from the records of the armies and governments of both North and South and countless documents from private sources. The following individually bound books are included in this lot.
