Description:

Measuring almost 11 inches in length, this finely detailed, relief carved ivory flask features a scene of medieval riders and their dogs preparing for a hunt with castle walls and a forest in the background. The opposite side has "HENRIC VS IIII", his bust and royal motif. The spout end is a relief carved snarling wolf's head with an acorn plug in its mouth. There are two ivory carrying rings mounted in ivory eyelets and the bottom cap is smooth. No estimate of age, but appears to be of fine quality.

Rating Definition:

Very fine, with a very pleasant, mellow aged patina. This attractive flask would be a nice addition to any flask collection.
