Winchester Model 1897 Black Diamond Trap Slide Action Shotgun

Manufactured in 1914. Single bead sight on a matted barrel with a 2 3/4 inch chamber, choked full. Standard two line marking on the left rear of the barrel with the matching serial number marked on the bottom of takedown ring and receiver. Marked "TRAP GUN" on exposed top portion of the breech bolt. Mounted with a checkered forearm and straight grip stock with ebony diamond inserts on the wrist and a checkered hard rubber Winchester buttplate. Length of pull is 13 5/8".

ConditionVery fine as period refinished. The barrel retains 85% blue mostly thinned to a smooth brown on the breech end half. There are a few minor scratches and moderate wear just ahead of the magazine. The magazine tube and slide bar show wear from normal usage with areas of smooth gray. The receiver retains 98% of the bright blue finish with high edge wear and some scratches and dings. The re-oiled wood is fine with a pieced-in repair on the toe and a few overall scattered minor dings and scratches.
