Description:

Blade measuring 7 1/8" long, with double edge and spear point. No maker's markings. "S" shaped brass guard, with brass and wood handle. Top of the cross guard is marked "A.L.C.". Includes National Archives research listing the knife as having belonged to Augustus L. Clark of Co. K 5th N.H. MF, who had an extensive Civil War record. Includes leather sheath with belt loop. OAL: 11 3/8".

Rating Definition:

Very good. Blade has been resharpened during the period of usage. Moderate scuffing of blade and areas of pitting. Cross guard is loose. Brass has a darkened patina. Leather is good, with some cracking and minor scuffing.
