Description:

This brown leather holster rig was made by F.A. Meanea of Cheyenne, Wyoming (circa 1881 to 1928), one of the original Wyoming Territory saddle makers and one of the most desirable makers to collect. The plugged bottom, open top holster has a wide border tooled pattern on the front, is stamped "F.A. MEANEA / CHEYENNE" on the front, and has a tear drop toe plug. The skirt has a single integral holster loop that also features a tooled pattern. The cartridge belt measures nearly 38 1/2" long (does not include the tongue) and features 35 cartridge loops and a nickel plated iron belt buckle. The belt tongue is stamped "F.A. MEANEA / CHEYENNE".

Rating Definition:

Very good. Overall the leather shows honest wear associated with its age with the stitching remaining tight. The buckle retains some original nickel plating with the balance a smooth dark patina. The leather lining on the holster has some loss at the opening. Leather is very soft. A highly desirable Colt SAA rig!
