Second variation manufactured from late 1936 to 1947 with the "B" serial number prefix. Left barrel side has two line address/caliber/special smokeless steel marking, top of receiver is marked "MARLIN SAFETY" flanked by decorative brackets, upper tang has two line model marking, and lower tang has the serial number. Hooded ramp front and sporting type rear sights on extra long barrel with 3/4 length magazine tube. Blue with casehardened receiver and lever. Excellent. The barrel and magazine retains nearly 97% original blue finish with some minor muzzle wear and some minor thinning along with some minor spotting. The receiver and lever retain 98% original vivid case colors. The lever retains 95% plus case colors. The wood is also excellent with most of the varnish remaining and some very scattered minor handling marks. The initials "JSC" are marked twice on buttplate.
