Description:

No makers marks, with an adjustable dovetail post front sight, an empty front dovetail and a tapped hole on the upper tang for a peep sight. A wild animal is engraved on the rear of the frame, with scrollwork on the hammer, borders on the lock, double set triggers and drum bolster with brass fence. Smooth full length maple walnut stock with brass tip and escutcheons, brass tipped ramrod, brass banding around the wrist, four inscription plates on the buttstock, one marked "Cln.G", another a faint signature over "1886", raised left handed cheekpiece and a brass buttplate.

Rating Definition:

Good, with a mixed brown and gray patina on the steel, with a smear of white paint on the muzzle, scattered spotting and handling marks, and pitting concentrated around the drum. Stock is fair as repaired, with mended and unmended cracks, chips, 4 panels missing from the buttstock and scattered dents. Mechanically good.
