Very Fine E. Anschutz Philadelphia Percussion Target Rifle

The "E. ANSCHUTZ / PHILADELPHIA" marked barrel has a false muzzle and globe front sight and there is an adjustable tang peep sight. Fish sculpted hammer, with a scroll engraving on the lock plate, hammer side, breech plug, and upper tang. The engraving extends to the German silver finger groove trigger guard, forend cap, and Swiss style buttplate. The lock plate is marked "E. ANSCHUTZ". Double set triggers, brass tipped wooden ramrod, and half length stock with checkered wrist, raised cheekpiece, and single barrel wedge.

ConditionVery fine. The barrel retains 60% of the original blue finish with the balance a smooth brown patina. The lock plate, breech plug, and upper tang retain 95% original case colors. The German silver is fine. The stock is excellent with some very scattered minor handling marks. The checkering is crisp.
