Description:

Manufactured in 1914, this is one of 4000 Model 14 1/2 rifles purchased by the British government. The right side of the barrel is stamped with a Dominion of Canada proof (DCP). Low blade and adjustable notch sights. Barrel has the three line address/patent dates marking over "REMINGTON / TRADE MARK / 44 REM. OR 44 WCF" at the breech. 12 groove forearm and smooth pistol grip stock with checkered steel Remington-UMC buttplate.

Rating Definition:

Very good. Barrel and receiver retain 90% original blue finish thinning to a brown. The remaining metal surfaces retain 30% original blue finish with the balance a mix between smooth brown and gray patina. The forearm is very fine with some minor handling marks. The buttstock is very good with numerous minor handling marks, a few missing minor chips and a few putty filled repairs.
