Description:

Manufactured in 1905. Standard nickel steel marking on the left rear of the barrel, Winchester oval proof followed by ".30 U.S. MOD. 1903." on top at the breech, Winchester proof on the top left of the receiver ring and two line address/patent dates on the left side of the receiver. The upper tang is marked with the three line model trade mark marking and the serial number is on the lower tang. Ramp blade front sight with brass bead, adjustable buck horn rear sight and mounted with a smooth forearm with ebony forend insert and straight grip stock with crescent buttplate. Two filler screws are present in the upper left receiver where a Redfield sight once resided.

Rating Definition:

Fine. The rifle retains 50% of the original thinning blue finish with areas of smooth silver gray patina and a few minor scratches. The wood is very good showing signs of some cleaning with scattered minor dents, dings and scratches. The markings remain crisp and clear. Mechanically excellent.
